As travellers, Alicia and I usually look for places with historical significance or natural beauty when we visit a new country, but we found something else in Hong Kong.
Food.
Delicious and (compared to home, anyway) incredibly cheap food.
We only had a brief stay, with a quick side trip to Macau, but Hong Kong was a beautifully vibrant place to see, from the hustle bustle of the streets to the calm of the Po Lin Monastery to the fun of Ocean Park.
Macau was a little more like our usual travels: we bypassed the casinos and explored some of the historical areas, seeing the frankly bizarre mishmash of Portuguese and Chinese influences.
Here's some of our favourite shots.
