Shortly after we got engaged, my fiancée noticed a sale on for flights to South America. We knew it wouldn't be sensible to go travelling; weddings don't organise (or pay for) themselves, you know. Happily, we're not very sensible people, so we jumped on the cheap fares and set our sights on Machu Picchu in Peru!

It was some time after our trip to Europe and my partner and I started getting itchy feet. This time we went somewhere a little closer to home, first to Cambodia to see the wonders of Angkor Wat, among other temples and ruins, and then to Phuket in Thailand to relax in the tropical sun.

In 2008, my girlfriend (now wife) Alicia and I took six months off to travel around Europe - and I do mean Europe: we saw 25 countries in 26 weeks! It was an amazing and exhausting trip; we hardly stayed anywhere longer than a few days, which meant that we saw lots, from music festivals to traditional markets, art to architecture, the hustle and bustle of life in cities to the natural beauty and tranquillity of the countryside.
